Develop a Positive From a Negative

My wife Ann and I were reading the ten commandments together, when I realized that by turning all the negative “Thou shalt nots” into positive statements about God, we had developed a positive picture of God. So we read and prayed like this,

We read, “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13).

We prayed, “Thank You Father, You gave us life! We have been born again. We are Your own begotten children, You gave us life more abundantly. Yes Lord, You are our Great Life Giver!”

We read, “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14).

We prayed, “Thank You Lord Jesus, You are perfectly faithful to Your Bride, the Church, of which we are living members. Come Lord Jesus! You are our Beloved. Come for Your Bride. Thank You that You are preparing and adorning us to be Your Bride at the coming wedding of the Lamb. We love You! Yes Lord, You are our perfectly Faithful Bridegroom!”

We read, “Thou shalt not steal”” (Exodus 20:15).

We prayed, “Thank You Father, You are not a thief, on the contrary, You are the Champion Giver! You gave Your only begotten Son to die for us on the Cross for our sins. You resurrected Him to be our life. You have abundantly given and given again to us blessings upon blessings. We simply repented and believed. You took away our negative things, our sins. You showered upon us all Your positive things, the free gifts of salvation, redemption, sonship, eternal life, joy, peace, too many things to enumerate them all! Yes Lord, You are the Champion Giver!”

We read, “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” (Exodus 20:16).

“You must not lie” (Exodus 20:16 TLB).

We prayed, “Thank You Lord Jesus, You are the Faithful Witness. You tell it as it is! You have told us we are sinners. You have warned us of Hell. You have clearly revealed to us in Your Word that You alone are the Savior, the Redeemer and that Your Precious Blood shed on the Cross takes away the sin of the world. Thank You that You tell the truth because YOU ARE THE TRUTH! You never lie! Therefore, I can believe everything You said!”

We read, “Thou shalt not covet” (Exodus 20:17).

We prayed, “Thank You Father, You do not covet. All things are Yours anyhow! All the world, all the cattle on a thousand hills, everything is Yours, including us. Yes Lord, having You as our Good Shepherd, I shall not want anything, for You are far more than everything, You are infinite, You are the All in All!”

Updates from Cuba

Starting in the 1990’s Fred was significantly involved with Cuba.  The Lord has continued to move strongly in Cuba through many brothers and sisters in Christ including some key workers who Fred helped to disciple.  Since 2009, a project to evangelize the whole country has reached many Cubans with many new believers added to the house of God.  The work is ongoing to evangelize the entire island country.
