Partakers of God’s Divine Nature

The Word of God:  “His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:3b,4).

Remember that the Lord Jesus said in John 15, “Abide in Me and I in you” and, “If ye abide in Me and My words abide in you.” Now in 2 Peter 1 we learn the same lesson, albeit rephrased. He has given us His very great, His exceeding great and precious promises that through them you and I may partake of the divine nature, may participate in the divine nature. Not that we could ever be God, no! Such a thought is satanic! It was Lucifer who said, I will be like the most high!” It is by sheer mercy that God has begotten us; we were born again of the Holy Spirit. The Heavenly Father has become our Father by our faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only because He has made us partakers of the divine nature that we can escape the corruption that is in the world caused by evil desires. Christ in us can and does save us from the lust and rottenness all around us and gives us His own character. The result of His abiding in us is wonderful. Consider Isaiah 26:12, which reads:

“Thou wilt ordain peace for us: for Thou also hast wrought all our works in us” KJV).

“Lord, You will ordain peace (God’s favor and blessing, temporal and spiritual) for us, for You have also wrought in us and for us all our works” (Amplified). (Italics mine).

Let us pray:

“Father, thank You that through Your divine power You have given me everything I need for life and godliness, when I got to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Thank You that You have called me to glory and godliness. I am so glad that You have given me Your very great and precious promises, so that through them I may partake of the divine nature, participate in Your divine nature, and escape the lust and rottenness which is all around me.  Father, because You have said it, I find boldness to ask You for a greater daily intake of Your exceedingly great and precious promises. What You offer me in Your Word as promises, lead me to take and receive in prayer. What You tell me as a promise, lead me to tell You as my prayer. What You offer, lead me to receive, that in so doing, I may daily partake more and more of Your divine nature, participate in Your divine nature and escape lust and rottenness. It gives me great peace of mind to know that You are the One Who is doing in me, for me, through me, with me and unto the Father’s glory, all my good works. Oh yes, to You be all the glory!”

Updates from Cuba

Starting in the 1990’s Fred was significantly involved with Cuba.  The Lord has continued to move strongly in Cuba through many brothers and sisters in Christ including some key workers who Fred helped to disciple.  Since 2009, a project to evangelize the whole country has reached many Cubans with many new believers added to the house of God.  The work is ongoing to evangelize the entire island country.
