“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah 9: 6,7).
Would you like to send your dearest friends a most wonderful Christmas gift of enormous value, yet a gift that would actually cost you only a postage stamp? I give this to you so you can also give it to others.
I had just finished reading the Scripture above quoted. It was such a great blessing to me that I decided to make a prayer based on it and pray it aloud! When I did it became a joyful experience with God, it made me so happy, that tears of joy welled up in my eyes, my voice quivered and I had a sweet time of worship and thanksgiving to the Heavenly Father God.
This became such a blessing to me that I typed it out as a short letter to Dave and Donna, a dear couple, prayed it for them, and mailed it, instead of sending them an average, commercially manufactured Christmas card.
When my custom-tailored, personalized, Christmas prayer for them arrived in the mail, it made them so happy they actually phoned me to joyfully thank me.
Hereunder is how I prayed, based on Isaiah 9:6,7. Feel free to pray it aloud for yourself also:
“For me, You Lord Jesus, were born as a child in Bethlehem! For me, You Lord Jesus, as Son of God were given. The government over me and of the entire universe shall be upon Your shoulder, Lord Jesus. You are my Lord and King. Your Name shall be called and I call You right now, my Wonderful Lord Jesus! My very own Counselor! My mighty God! My Everlasting Father! My Prince of Peace! You are Peace to me! You are the Prince of my Peace! Of the increase of Your government and peace there shall be no end; Your rule over me shall never stop! Upon the throne You shall sit, Lord Jesus! God’s kingdom You shall rule forever, Lord Jesus! You shall order it, Lord Jesus! You shall establish Your rule with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever, Lord Jesus! Your very own zeal, Lord Jesus, Lord of the Heavenly Armies, shall do this! Amen!”
If you wish to write this to your friends Tom and Sue (or any other name) and pray this for them, then write this to them:
Hi Tom and Sue! I just read Isaiah 9:6,7 and enjoyed it so much that I actually prayed it for myself and then for both of you like this:
“For Tom and Sue, You Lord Jesus, were born as a child in Bethlehem! For Tom and Sue, You Lord Jesus, as Son of God were given. The government over Tom and Sue and of the entire universe shall be upon Your shoulder, Lord Jesus. You are Tom and Sue’s Lord and King. Your Name shall be called and I call You right now, Tom and Sue’s Wonderful Lord Jesus! Tom and Sue’s very own Counsellor! Tom and Sue’s mighty God! Tom and Sue’s everlasting Father! Tom and Sue’s Prince of Peace! You are peace to them! You are the Prince of their Peace! Of the increase of Your government and peace over Tom and Sue there shall be no end; Your rule over Tom and Sue shall never stop! Upon the throne You shall sit, Lord Jesus! God’s kingdom You shall rule forever, Lord Jesus! You shall order it, Lord Jesus. You shall establish Your rule with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever, Lord Jesus! Your very own zeal, Lord Jesus, Lord of the Heavenly Armies, shall do this for Tom and Sue! Amen!”
Unquestionably, one of the very best gifts you can give to your Christian friends is to pray for them. Now you can combine the Word of God, a Christmas greeting, and your personal prayer into one–and prayerfully mail it to your friends.
