(God talks with you): “And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. and he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.” (Exodus 33:11-17).
In the above Scriptures I have highlighted in bold type the details of a lively conversation between God and Moses, the friend of God. What God told Moses became Moses’ prayer to God. The words God spoke to Moses became the very words Moses spoke to God. Then, the words Moses spoke to God, likewise became God’s words to Moses!
This reminds me of what Jesus said: “If ye abide in Me and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7).
(You talk with God): “Dearest Father, I also want to be a friend of God and talk with You face to face, read Your Word, communing with You, allowing Your Word to speak to me personally.
Thank You that You will go with me and in me. I don’t want to go anywhere unless You go with me and in me. If You aren’t going with me and in me, don’t let me move a step from this place! If You don’t go with me and in me, who will ever know that I am a Christian, that I have found favor and grace with You, and that Christians are different from any other people upon the face of the earth?
I am asking You just like Moses did, and I trust that You will do what I have asked because I have found grace and favor with You and I am Your friend, begotten by You through the cleansing blood of Your Son, my Lord Jesus Christ, in whose Name I pray. Amen.
