πρῶτος occurs over 90 times in the NT.

  1. The rare spatial sense occurs only in the description of the tabernacle in Hb. 9:2, 6, 8: πρώτη → σκηνή.
  2. More numerous are instances of “the first in time, number, sequence.”
  3. πρῶτοσ/ἔσχατος is also used hierarchically.
